About Us

The G.B.S. Survivors’ Network Southern Africa was created in 2006 to assist with survivors of this debilitating illness. Whether it be patients or family members and friends, the G.B.S. Survivors’ Network Southern Africa offers emotional support and a network for afflicted people to connect with others. We do not need to be alone.

The leader of this group, Evan Rothman, is an International Liaison to the GBS-CIDP Foundation International and was afflicted with Guillain-Bare Syndrome in May of 2006 and survived a relapse of this illness too. With the support of friends and family, and the advice and friendship of fellow G.B.S. survivors the severity of the illness was lessened.

Reaching out is the only way we can help to raise awareness for this illness and its related residual effects. Through the creation of a network, patients and survivors can communicate on an effective level. We have a network established throughout South Africa, and have also assisted in the creation of support groups in Mozambique, Botswana and Namibia.

Contact the G.B.S. Survivor’s Network Southern Africa to reach a survivor in your area or to seek advice and support from Evan Rothman, do not hesitate to contact him at evanrothman@gmail.com and at +2783 452 6892. It must be pointed out that this network is run-for-free and does not offer financial support.
